‘Absolutely extraordinary!’ Harry and Meghan have been chastised for ignoring Queen Elizabeth’s heartbreaking day

On March 29, members of the Royal Family will gather for a service of thanksgiving for the late Duke of Edinburgh. The service will be held at Westminster Abbey to commemorate the life of the Queen’s beloved late husband, Prince Philip.

The Queen is widely expected to attend a thanksgiving service next week to commemorate the life of her beloved late husband.

She will almost certainly be joined by several members of her family at the service, which will take place at Westminster Abbey.

The Sussexes, who retired from royal duties two years ago and now live in California, will not be among the guests, it has been confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex, 37, said earlier this month that he will not attend his late grandfather’s memorial service in London.

His planned absence was not explained, but his spokesperson stated that he hopes to visit the Queen soon.

The Duke of York, who recently reached a settlement in his civil case, was reportedly present, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.

Mr Fitzwilliams, who also reacted to the news that Harry and Meghan would miss the opportunity to pay tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh, called their absence “simply extraordinary.”

“The Service to Honor Prince Philip will be an appropriate way of paying tribute to a truly remarkable individual, whose superhuman energy and considerable talents were devoted to supporting the Queen and the institution of monarchy,” he told Express.co.uk.

He later added, “Prince Andrew is expected to attend the Service, which honours his father’s life.” The Sussexes’ absence is simply extraordinary!”

It would be his first public appearance for the Duke of York since his sex assault case was settled.

Despite the scrutiny, the Duke of York is determined to honour his father by attending the Abbey, according to PA Media.

Friends, colleagues, and representatives from organisations that the Duke of Edinburgh supported will also be present.

Other European royal families, including Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and his wife Queen Silvia, and Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia, will travel to London for the service.

The Queen’s non-working royal grandchildren Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall, as well as their spouses, are expected to attend.

On April 9, Prince Philip died at Windsor Castle, and his funeral was held just over a week later at the nearby St George’s Chapel.

Since resigning from royal duties and moving to America, Prince Harry has only returned to the UK twice, and never with his family.

In April of last year, the Duke of Sussex returned to Britain to attend the funeral of the late Duke of Edinburgh.

Due to Covid restrictions at the time, his grandfather’s funeral was limited to close family and friends.

His grandfather’s funeral was limited to close family and friends due to Covid restrictions at the time.

This was in accordance with the Covid rules in effect at the time, which stated that visitors to the UK must isolate for 10 days.

He was reportedly allowed to attend the funeral on compassionate grounds, but the rules stipulated that he must remain in isolation “at all other times.”

There is speculation that Harry’s ongoing legal battle with the UK government over security measures has hampered any potential visits to the country.
