Scarlett Johansson’s longstanding Manhattan penthouse apartment has finally sold at a loss after nearly two years on the market, according to the newspaper.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 38, paid $2.1 million for the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Sutton Place home more than a decade ago, in 2008.
On March 11, she sold it for barely $1.87 million, according to public documents.
Aside from the immediate $223,000 loss, she has incurred further losses due to costly improvements and updates to the house over the years.
With a net worth of $165 million and the title of world’s highest-paid actress in 2018 and 2019, it’s unlikely that the “Black Widow” heroine is very concerned.
The Marvel actress initially listed the home for $2.5 million in July 2020, but was unable to find a buyer after lowering the price to $1.89 million in December. It was advertised for rent at $6,500 per month while it was still on the market.
The residence has a patio with skyline views and room for al fresco dining that overlooks the East River.
Hardwood flooring, floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, and a remodelled open kitchen with luxurious marble counters are among the features. In the main suite, there’s also a large walk-in closet.
A full-time doorman, an extra laundry room, and a parking garage are among the amenities of the white-glove postwar complex.
