ISLAMABAD:Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib on Thursday condemned the infiltration attempt of a group of terrorists in Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan from Afghanistan.

In a statement, he prayed to the Almighty to rest the soldiers, who lost lives while foiling the infiltration attempt, in the highest ranks of Jannah.

The minister lauded the Pakistan Army for thwarting the infiltration bid. “Those who sacrifice their lives for the defense of motherland are our heroes,” he added.

He said the armed forces were not only ensuring internal security, but also protecting the country’s borders.

Four soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom in North Waziristan’s Hassan Khel area during an exchange of fire with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Pakistan from Afghanistan.

According to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations, the attempt of terrorists was foiled due to the alertness and timely response of army troops.

The statement said the fleeing terrorists retaliated with fire to the security forces’ vigilant strong response which was reciprocated in a befitting manner.

ISPR said the terrorists having failed, fled away and as per intelligence reports, suffered heavy casualties

It said four soldiers embraced martyrdom after fighting gallantly during the gun battle.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Lance Havaldar Wajahat Alam , Sepoy Sajjid lnayat, Sepoy Maqbool Hayat  and Sepoy Sajjid Ali who embraced Shahadat while fighting bravely during intense exchange of fire.

The ISPR statement said Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
