‘My grandmother taught me how to make too-tight jeans fit, and it’s amazing.’

We’ve all bought a nice-looking pair of jeans that turned out to be a little too tight for comfort at some point.

We frequently find ourselves tossing them in the back of the closet or tossing them in the charity shop bag. However, this does not have to be the case.

A blogger described how she was initially disappointed when a new pair of jeans she purchased secondhand didn’t fit her properly. But then she talked to her grandmother.

Lily Schoknecht explained in a TikTok video that has people rushing to try out the hand-me-down tip for themselves that she bought her jeans in a size down because that was the only size available.

After trying them on, she declared her bargain a “tough loss,” as the jeans did not fit her at all. Her grandmother, on the other hand, advised her to simply jump into the shower.

Lily said: “I spoke to my nana about them, and she said ‘have you showered in them yet?’ I was like, ‘what? No, I haven’t showered in my jeans. what are you talking about?’

“She was like, ‘just trust me, shower in them, wear them around the house, stretch them out a little bit, and then let them air dry without putting them in the dryer again.'”

Lily, who goes by the username @bug318_, followed her grandmother’s advice because she was “desperate” for her stylish new jeans to fit. The next morning, they fit perfectly, as if she’d found them in her exact size.

Needless to say, her followers were astounded by how well the wise trick worked, though some shuddered at the thought of walking around in wet jeans.

“My sensory issues are strong, but my desire to fit the thrifted jeans in the back of my closet is stronger,” one person said.

“This is a very old hack, I’m 75 and did that with old jeans when I was in my 20s,” wrote another.
