‘Jamaicans angry about treatment of Meghan Markle’

During Kate Middleton and Prince William’s royal tour of the Caribbean, a royal expert shared her thoughts on the protest in Jamaica.

A protest against Britain’s ties to Jamaica took place just before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in the country.

A royal expert stated in response to the protests, “Jamaicans are angry about the treatment of Meghan Markle.”

“I don’t think Brits realise how angry Jamaicans are over the treatment of Meghan by the Royal Family & the British public,” journalist Nadine Batchelor Hunt wrote on Twitter. And the Royal Family should be concerned because the decolonisation movement has gained traction in recent years, with Barbados recently abolishing the Queen as head of state.”

It is to mention here that during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Duchess of Sussex accused the Royal Family of racism, stating that an unnamed member of the Firm expressed “concerns about how dark his [Archie’s] skin might be when he was born.”

The visit by William and Kate to the Caribbean is seen as a charm offensive to prevent other countries from following Barbados’ lead and deposing the Queen as Head of State.

Jamaica, a Commonwealth Realm where the Queen still reigns as Head of State, is embroiled in a heated debate over whether to sever ties with the British Crown 60 years after the former colony gained independence.

However, Kate Middleton and Prince William, who was reportedly assigned a side mission for the tour, are winning hearts with their people-friendly gestures and are doing their best to project the Royal Family’s good image.
