KEITH LEMON’s craft show has been cancelled because it was “too expensive to produce.”
The Fantastical Factory of Curious Craft aired for one season on Channel 4, and Keith – real name Leigh Francis – stated that it had not been renewed.
The 48-year-old comedian and Naked Attraction’s Anna Richardson hosted the eccentric craft competition in which contestants competed for commissions from celebrity guests.
Spice Girl Mel B, Eamonn Holmes, ex-EastEnders star Martin Kemp, Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, and Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw were among those looking for one-of-a-kind designs to take home.
Keith said during an Instagram live Q&A today, “No, it won’t be back.”
“I had a great time doing it, but I think it was too expensive.”
Keith’s role as Factory Controller required him to make decisions about who would be sent home from the competition.
“I thought it would be easy,” he told The Sun ahead of the show’s debut two years ago.
“When I saw Simon Cowell on The X Factor, I thought what a simple job it would be, shattering dreams.”
“It’s extremely difficult. When you’ve seen them spend four to six hours on something and it’s ace, it’s horrible. However, you must still send someone home.
