Lieutenant General (Retired) Dua, who was in charge of the Kashmir Corps during the ‘surgical strike’ in September 2016, took to Twitter to offer to help young Mehra realise his ambition of joining the Indian Army.
The internet has been ablaze since a 19-year-old boy’s midnight run on a quiet Noida lane attracted everyone’s attention. Many people, including former Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff Lieutenant General Satish Dua, have been inspired by Pradeep Mehra’s sheer drive and motivation behind his polite denial of filmmaker Vinod Kapri‘s offer of a ride home.

The General Officer tagged Kapri’s viral post on Mehra’s midnight run in his tweet. “His Josh is commendable, and to help him pass the recruitment tests on his merit, I’ve interacted with Colonel of KUMAON Regiment, Lt Gen Rana Kalita, the Eastern Army Commander. He is doing the needful to train the boy for recruitment into his Regiment. Jai Hind.”
