Shoaib Akhtar ranks three finest cricketers of all time

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani fast bowler, has revealed his top three cricketers of all time. During his 14-year tenure with the Rawalpindi Express, he has played with or against all of these players.

Former Pakistan captain and one of the best bowlers of all time Wasim Akram, the great Sachin Tendulkar, and spin icon Shane Warne, who sadly passed away earlier this month, are among those on the list.

Shoaib Akhtar held Warne in high regard, and his death came as a complete surprise to him.

“He was a large-hearted person, he would be a good friend, always ready to help and such a great bowler,” said Akhtar in a Youtube show.

“He had a fast bowler hidden inside him. He was that kind of a spinner. I was very sad to hear about his passing. He went too early. The greatest three players for me are Wasim, Shane Warne, and Sachin,” he further said.

Take a look at the records that these renowned cricketers have set.

Sachin Tendulkar is the only player to play 200 Test matches and holds the records for most runs in ODIs (18426), Tests (15921), and becoming the first player to reach a double century in one-day cricket. In both ODIs and Tests, he has the most centuries (49). (51).

Wasim Akram, often known as the ‘Sultan of Swing,’ is widely recognised as one of cricket’s finest fast bowlers.

Wasim Akram has 502 ODI wickets and 414 Test wickets to his credit. With over 6600 runs in international cricket, Akram is more than capable with the bat.

Shane Warne, arguably the best leg-spinner of all time, took 1001 international wickets and scored over 4000 runs in his career, including 13 half-centuries.

Most wickets in a calendar year (96 in 2005), most Test wickets for Australia (708) and most wickets in international cricket for Australia (1001) are among his achievements.
