Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles, has been selected as the next patron of the National Theatre, succeeding Meghan Markle.

After her and her husband Prince Harry’s departure from the Royal Family was finalised, the Duke of Sussex was compelled to resign. When she married Diana’s son, the former Suits star received multiple royal patronages.

There are rumours and speculations that the patronage, which has been a cause of great stress between Meghan and Camilla on two occasions, may exacerbate the feud between the two royals.

Meghan had to quit the post when it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would not be returning to public life, and there was speculation about her future.
