Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday restrained the Sindh government and director colleges from interfering in a cricket academy being run by Pakistan national cricket team’s former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area.

The restraining order was passed by a division bench headed by Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi on a constitutional petition filed by Sarfaraz and another, claiming that the Sindh government and director colleges have established a college at ground ST-07 Block-N North Nazimabad which was given to him by former Karachi mayor for establishing a cricket academy and maintaining the ground on his own.

The petitioners complained that grills of the academy have been removed by the respondents and some space of the ground is also being used for parking purposes.

The bench issuing notices to the Sindh government and Sindh advocate general restrained all the respondents from causing interference in the petitioner’s possession on the ground and creating any hindrance in its use by the petitioner till the next hearing.
