A body language specialist is analysing Kate Middleton’s charitable gesture for Camilla Parker Bowles on Commonwealth Day.
According to Judi James, the Duchess of Cambridge, who was all hugs and kisses towards the future Queen consort, was ‘eager’ on displaying her admiration to Camilla.
“Kate caressed Camilla’s arm with her left hand as an add-on gesture to show intimacy and fondness as they cheek-kissed,” Judi told the Mirror. She then did a tremendous ‘act of discomfort’ to show respect, bending her knees and lowering herself all the way down to kiss Camilla on the cheeks.
“Her hand on Camilla’s arm fell, but she quickly replaced it for one last squeeze.”
“These greeting additions are tie-signs that would convey to Camilla and the rest of the world that Kate is eager to register fondness and intimacy with the lady who would be on the throne before her,” Judi said.
Judi went on to say that there was noticeable tension in the air before the warm greetings because this is the first Commonwealth Day since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left UK to step back as senior royals.
She elaborated: “Body language displays of affection and unity from Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate today appeared to be an emphatic statement of closure after the unbearable tensions and open rifts of 2020, when Harry and Meghan were bidding farewell to the UK and Edward and Sophie had to sit as human buffers to prevent layers of perma-frost from forming.
Judi also stated: “The most revealing moment occurred as the four stood together as they prepared to go down the aisle. William’s approach was marked by residual anxiety, as he arrived with one hand spread-eagled across his stomach in a barrier motion before rubbing his hands together and smoothing his clothing.
“Even Charles came shoving his hand into his pocket and appearing a bit feeble and shaky on his feet,” Judi added, “but when the group gathered it was kisses all round and an air of ease that they all appeared to be enjoying.”
“William kissed Camilla on both cheeks, while Charles kissed Kate on both cheeks before standing close in front of her, making extended eye contact while smiling and pointing in an active dialogue.” “Kate matched his pointing gesture, implying warm acceptance and same thought,” Judi agreed.
