There was no doubting their loving relationship as the Duchess of Cambridge met the Duchess of Cornwall during the Commonwealth Day service.
The two women had a nice moment where they kissed each other on the cheek and talked lovingly before marching down the Westminster Abbey aisle.
In fact, body language expert Judi James observed that at the time, Kate was eager to demonstrate her fondness and closeness to Camilla by committing a massive “act of discomfort.”
“Kate caressed Camilla’s arm with her left hand as an add-on gesture to show intimacy and fondness as they cheek-kissed,” Judi told the Mirror.
“She also performed a huge ‘act of inconvenience’ to show respect, bending her knees to lower herself right down to plant her kiss on Camilla’s cheeks.”
In the future, both women’s husbands are destined to become King – meaning they are both currently primed to become Queen Consorts.
And it is reported that Camilla, the elder and more experienced of the two ladies, was the first to offer Kate her support before she ever joined the Royal Family.
Camilla had joined the royal family some years before Kate and was well-versed in the royal way of life.
Kate had a lot to learn, and she needed to learn fast because she was taking on the role of royal girlfriend while dating Prince William.
Camilla was the one who reached out to give her prospective stepdaughter-in-law some words of wisdom, and they’re extremely telling.
According to royal scholar and biographer Robert Lacey, Charles’s wife had a piece of advice for Kate, but she struggled to implement it.
“Camilla had disclosed to Kate the key of clinging on to a busy prince: arrange your calendar – well, literally your whole existence – around his,” Lacey writes in his book Battle of Brothers.
Despite Camilla’s counsel, Lacey believes that this was not an option for Kate since William’s journal was “un-fit-roundable.”
Kate’s friendship with her new-stepmother-in-law was solidified after Camilla gave Kate a bespoke gold bracelet upon her marriage to William.
According to Hello! Magazine, the chain-link bracelet has a single charm with inscriptions on both sides.
Kate’s and Camilla’s monograms appear on both sides of the little disc.
On one side is a letter ‘C’ with a coronet for Catherine, Kate’s given name, and on the other is a letter ‘C’ with a crown for Camilla.
Kate has worn the bracelet in public just a few times, first at Wimbledon in 2011 and again during the Santa Barbara Polo Match as part of her official royal visit to California.
Camilla and Kate have both attended a number of royal events together in recent years.
Last year, the couple attended the premiere of the James Bond film No Time To Die with their spouses.
They also took part in a fun engagement with the Queen in Cornwall in June, where Camilla assisted Her Majesty in cutting a cake with a ceremonial sword.
They also paid a combined visit to East London earlier this year, together with Prince Charles, where they met textiles students at a Prince’s Foundation-run centre.
