An source claims that Prince Charles sent a romantic message to his future wife Princess Diana the night before their wedding, despite having reservations about their marriage.
When Charles sent the card and a gift to Clarence House, where Diana was spending her final night as a single woman, the Duke of Wales was already considered to be having doubts about his marriage.
The then-32-year-old is said to have provided his wife encouragement and guidance ahead of what would become one of history’s most famous royal weddings.
“The night before the wedding, which Diana spent at Clarence House with her sister Jane, he sent her a message, together with a signet ring that carried the Prince of Wales feathers,” royal biographer Penny Junor says in her book on Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Wales.
“He wrote, ‘I’m so proud of you and when you come up I’ll be there at the altar for you tomorrow. Just look ’em in the eye and knock ’em dead'”, reports the Express.
