Witnesses claim that about 60 young people were yelling and arguing in an east London street only minutes before a 19-year-old guy was stabbed to death.
Police have opened a murder inquiry after a man with a stomach wound was discovered at 12.40 a.m. today on Goodmayes Road, near Goodmayes station.
The adolescent was carried by ambulance to the hospital, where he eventually died.
A 32-year-old witness told the Ilford Recorder that at around midnight, there was a “odd” gathering of youngsters near Goodmayes Road.
“People kept coming,” he added. I heard males arguing and it became louder and louder until I heard a girl screaming.
“I believe it was something about a female.”
Another witness witnessed the man being taken on a stretcher out of a shisha bar as he was brought to the hospital.
“When I glanced outside, there were plenty of police cars and an ambulance, and they were bringing a small child out on a stretcher,” she told the Recorder.
“He was wearing an oxygen mask and a white sheet up to his neck.” It didn’t look good.”
A post-mortem examination will be performed in due course, according to police.
They think they have identified the victim, and his nearest of kin have been notified.
There have been no arrests.
