LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called in a foreign expert to prepare the pitch in Lahore for the third Test against Australia.
The first Test of a three-match series between Pakistan and Australia ended in Rawalpindi without any result. Domestic and foreign players criticized the PCB for making a poor pitch.
Later, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also took notice of the poor pitch in the Rawalpindi Test and gave a de-merit point to the Pindi Stadium and put it on the monitoring list.
On the other hand, Chairman PCB Rameez Raja defending the pitch of Rawalpindi Test match said that before the match all our fast bowlers were unfit and in the absence of opener Abid Ali a new opening pair was introduced due to which the poor wicket was prepared.
The PCB has made a big decision to prepare the pitch for Gaddafi Stadium after receiving criticism on the Pindi Test pitch. A foreign expert has been called to prepare the wicket of the third Test between Pakistan and Australia in Lahore.
The PCB has hired Tony Hemming, an ICC Academy expert and world-renowned pitch curator for an MCG-style pitch.
The last match of the Pakistan-Australia Test series will start on March 21 in Lahore. To win the second Test match, Pakistan will have to score 314 runs on the last day while Australia needs 8 wickets to win the match.
