The meteorological department said on Tuesday that the heatwave would continue across the country, including Karachi, this week.
Extreme temperatures are expected, and the mercury would rise 9-10 degrees Celsius more than usual.

The temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:
Islamabad seventeen degree centigrade, Lahore twenty-one, Karachi twenty-four, Peshawar twenty, Quetta thirteen, Gilgit and Murree fifteen and Muzaffarabad thirteen degree centigrade.
According to the Met office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy and dry weather is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula while dry in Jammu.
The temperature recorded this morning: Srinagar, Anantnag and Shopian eight degree centigrade, Jammu sixteen, Leh minus two, Pulwama seven and Baramula nine degree centigrade.
