At least two pilots of Plant Protection Unit killed as a plane crashed in Sadiqabad

The aircraft called by the district administration to spray insecticide against attack of desert locusts in the fields.

Initial investigations revealed the plane crashed due to technical problems. However, police and rescue services have reached the site of the incident and are retrieving bodies.

The aircraft  provided by the federal government to Punjab government to carry out spray in the fields.

Earlier, On January 7, 2020, two pilots faced martyrdom when an aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed during a routine operational training mission near Mianwali.

The two pilots, Squadron Leader Harris Bin Khalid and Flying Officer Ibadur Rehman, who boarded the FT-7 aircraft, lost their lives in the crash.

The air headquarters ordered an inquiry into the incident to determine the cause of the accident.

The aircraft took off from an airbase for a training mission.

However, on its way for landing, the FT-7 aircraft crashed.

Soon after the incident, army and law enforcement personnel reached the spot and shifted the bodies to local hospital.

According to PAF’s spokesperson, air headquarters have formed a board to investigate the incident.
