Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Pakistan’s economy was growing rapidly despite the corona pandemic due to prudent and effective policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday, along with Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam, he said it was expected that the country would continue its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth with five per cent during this fiscal year.
According to Chaudhry, sales of tractors, vehicles and other agricultural machinery had been increased in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Fakhar Imam said that the country had witnessed record agri-production due to the agricultural policy framework of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said that special focus was being paid to agricultural education in the country, and stressed more attention to research and technical training.

The production of wheat was 27.5 million tonnes last year, and the production of cotton remained 9 million bales, Imam added.
