LAHORE: At least five persons were injured after two rival groups clashed with each other over setting up a vendor cart in Raiwind City on Monday.

Reportedly, the parties came in front of each other in Model Bazar. A person had set up a cart that had annoyed the opposite group. A group of people came to remove it, the efforts were resisted by the other, ultimately the groups resorted to firing.

As a result, five persons received bullet injuries. They have been identified as Asif, Waseem Khan, Adil, Shahzad and Shan. They have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police said that they are investigating the matter.

Faulty Injection

Separately, a 33-year-old man reportedly died after a faulty injection reacted to him in Ghaziabad.

The victim has been identified as Salman. Reportedly, the victim had been facing a stomach issue. He visited a clinic in Nizamabad where a doctor administered an injection. After it, the victim’s condition deteriorated. His family and relatives staged a protest and held the doctor responsible. Police on information reached the spot and shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.

Road Accident

Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man died in a road accident in Factory Area. The victim identified as Bashir along with his nephew Faisal, both residents of Ghaziabad, were heading on a bike to Jhalka Stop. In the way, a passenger wagon hit them. The victims fell down received injuries and Bashir died on the spot.

Faisal was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police Encounter

In another case, a suspected robber died in a police encounter in Raiwind City. Reportedly, CIA City police had received information that suspected robbers were hiding in a house. The team conducted a raid. On seeing police, a suspect resorted to firing to which police also retaliated.

The police party found the suspect Sharif alias Shareefo Aoud lying dead.

Police said that the suspect had murdered a citizen Pervaiz Akhtar during a house robbery in Eden Park.

Police Constable Suspended

A police constable has been suspended by SP Cantonment by extracting bribe of 50,000/- rupees from a citizen appearing for inquiry before a DSP. The suspended constable has been identified as Dilshad. He was deputed in North Cantonment police station. In the premises, the office of DSP was also situated.

A party had been appearing before DSP for investigation of a case. The suspected constable lured them by showing himself as staff of DSP for arranging favor and took 500000/- rupees.

When the deal went sour, the matter had been complained about before a senior police official. SP Cantt Essa Sukhera suspended the constable and closed him to police lines. Five suspects thrashed a youth publicly and also filmed the incident after being frustrated over a minor issue in Harbancepura.

Police on Monday arrested the suspect said SP Cantt Essa Sukhera.

He said that the suspects identified as Jahanzeb, Ali Saddam, Sheharyar Khan and Ali Ajmal had lured the victim on pretext of help in a work. When he reached there, they subjected him to severe torture and also made a video.

Police after taking cognizance of the matter arrested the suspects and registered a case against them.
