A video is going viral in which the young boy, aged 9-10, climbed on a tree while health department workers and his family members try to persuade him to get the immunization.

According to reports, the boy eventually climbed down after his parents persuaded him that the vaccine shots were given for the children’s protection.

On November 15, the government launched a nationwide anti-measles and anti-rubella campaign to immunize children. It will continue till the 27th.

Approximately 386,000 health workers have been hired across the country for the two-week campaign.

Pakistan reported 664 instances of measles last year, including four deaths. The number of cases has risen to 2,400 while 38 have lost their lives due to the disease during this year.

Medical experts said that booster shots are being administered to children in order to secure them from the disease.
