FIA launches manhunt to arrest ‘fake’ Porsche dealers

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), on Tuesday, launched a manhunt to arrest two alleged fake dealers of renowned German automobile manufacturer, Porsche.

According to an FIA official, the accused, identified as Abuzar Bukhari and his wife Noorain Khalid, were running a fake Porsche dealership in the city.

Lahore police also registered cases against them for fraud, cheating, and minting millions of rupees from innocent people, he added.

The FIA official confirmed that there was no dealership of the German automobile manufacturer in Pakistan and added that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported a suspicious transaction report (STR) against the accused persons.

The anti-graft watchdog said that it had got all the banks accounts of the accused couple sized and hoped they would be arrested soon.

The main accused, Bukhari, managed to flee from the country, however, efforts were underway to arrest his wife at the earliest, confirmed the FIA official.
