Bangladesh batter, Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of Bangladesh two-Test home series against Pakistan due to a thumb injury.
Tamim X-Ray report on Sunday revealed that he had a fracture on his left-hand thumb. He was injured last month during a T20 League in Kathmandu.
“The fracture had almost healed but my thumb remained swollen,” Tamim said. “So we wanted to have another X-ray, which revealed that there was a fracture.”
“Probably there were two, but it didn’t come out in the first scan … I can’t move it. The whole process has to start again.”
Tamim also decided to be out of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 due to lack of game time as he recovered from a knee injury.
Bangladesh is scheduled to play three T20s and two Test matches against Pakistan. Three T20s will be played in Dhaka starting from Friday, and the first Test will be played in Chattogram from November 26 followed by the second in Dhaka from December 4.
