CM Usman Buzdar, Shehbaz Sharif condemn Bajaur bomb blast

Several injured as blast hits train in Balochistan

BAJAUR: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Pakistan Muslim League-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday condemned the blast near the Raghagan Dam in Bajaur which claimed at least two lives of policemen.

They also paid tribute to the martyred police officials.

“We salute the sacrifices of the martyrs,” said CM Bazdar, adding that the entire Pakistani nation is united against terrorists.

“Terrorists cannot demoralise the nation with cowardly acts,” said the CM.

Shehbaz Sharif said the nation was proud of the bravery and courage with which the police confronted the terrorists. He said police officials had given great sacrifices against terrorism.

“The sacrifices and efforts of all law enforcement agencies including Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Corps and police to eradicate terrorism are commendable and a source of pride,” he maintained.

“May Allah Almighty elevate the ranks of the martyrs in Jannah and grant patience to the survivors. Amen,” he prayed.

The two policemen were martyred after an improvised explosive device (IED) was triggered via a remote control blast in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to officials, the policemen were on a routine patrol at the Raghagan Dam when the IED was triggered.

The bodies of the martyred policemen have been shifted to a local hospital, while the site of the explosion has been cordoned off. A search operation has also been launched in the area.
