QUETTA: The blast in Quetta’s Nawan Kali area injured six people, including a Eagle Squad personnel, who were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

A police patrol team of Eagle Squad was targeted in Nawa Kali, as a result of which a girl and three women, including one member of Eagle Squad, were injured, BOL News reported.

Police say the explosives were planted in a motorcycle that was detonated with the help of a remote control device.

Police officials say the blast targeted a police eagle squad, but an investigation has been launched into all aspects of the incident.

Earlier today, two police officials posted on the security of the Raghagan Dam were martyred in a remote-controlled bomb blast in tehsil Khaar of Bajaur district on Saturday.

The victims have been identified as Havaldar Hayat and Sipahi Siraj.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation against the suspects, while bodies of the security officials have been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police said the bomb was planted near the dam.
