ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin from the Islamabad International Airport.
According to the ANF officials, over four kilogrammes of heroin, concealed at the bottom of a bag, was recovered from the luggage of a passenger when it was searched.
The passenger was en route to Bahrain through a private airline. He was later sent to an undisclosed place for further investigation, said the ANF.
Meanwhile, a case was also registered against the suspect.
Earlier on September 28, the ANF had seized over 1,600-kg of drugs worth $478.271 million during multiple operations conducted across the country.
At least 30 people, including three foreigners, were also arrested, according to the ANF officials.
