Boeing’s Starliner ready to dock to ISS

WASHINGTON: NASA and Boeing set to launch the Starliner spacecraft on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket on Wednesday.

It is initially scheduled to dock to the International Space Station (ISS) at 3:06 p.m. Saturday from Space Launch Complex-41 on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida but a mishap involving a newly installed Russian module on the ISS (International Space Station) forced a four-day delay.

Now the new time for Starliner assumed to dock with the station shortly before 17:40 GMT on Wednesday. The Starliner will ride to orbit on an Atlas-5 rocket from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida as its  lift-off is timed for 13:20 local time (17:20 GMT; 18:20 BST).

Starliner’s last mission was in December 2019, when it failed to dock with the ISS due to an orbit insertion anomaly.–Xinhua
