The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to re-impose lockdown restrictions in Islamabad as a surge in COVID-19 cases.
The federal district administration issued a notification of the application of the new restrictions.

On the other hand, the use of masks in public and other places has been made mandatory.
Coronavirus in Pakistan:
According to the details, Pakistan on Thursday recorded 53 more deaths related to the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 13,377.
As per the latest NCOC statistics, 2,258 infections were reported in a single day taking the national tally of confirmed cases to 597,497.
The total count of active cases is 17,628. In the past 24 hours, as many as 1,276 patients have recovered from the virus. So far 566,492 people in the country have been recovered from the virus since the outbreak.
