Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn hits back with anger at Pakistan Super League (PSL) commentator Simon Doull for criticizing his hairstyle.
Steyn, who is representing Quetta Gladiators, took Twitter, to express his annoyance about comments made by Doull during the PSL match on Friday and smashed out at him for the comments about his long hair.
South African pacer joins the PSL with a new look sporting long hairs.
Referring to Steyn’s long hair, Doull was heard saying “A little mid-life crisis with that hair” while the camera captured Steyn sitting in the dressing room.
His fellow commentator was also heard saying “Lockdown hair”.
On Twitter, the South African pacer wrote: “Question. Which commentator said I have a mid-life crisis?”
Steyn wrote in his statement that,
“If your job is to talk about the game, then do that. But if you use that airtime to abuse, anyone, for their weight, sexual choices, ethnic backgrounds, lifestyle, etc, or even hairstyles, then I am afraid I have no time for you as a human. You and anyone else like that to be fair,”
“That’s all I have to say. It was a great time last night, fantastic to play in front of crowds again, cricket is so much better that way. We lost but hope to pull it together in our remaining games. Thanx for the support. Have a great weekend everyone,” he added.
