The International Day of the girl is marked on October 11 every year. The objective behind the remembrance of this day is to celebrate the significance of girls around the world and to promote gender equality.
The theme of International Day of girl this year is ‘My voice, our equal future’. Human rights organizations and other institutions hold seminars and activities to shed light on the potential of girls and promote gender equality.
The United Nations has paid tribute to girls on this auspicious occasion.
Today is International #DayOfTheGirl!
All around the world, girls are taking charge – from #ClimateChange movements to #digitalhealth solutions.

In addition to this, the World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has also tweeted regarding the day. He said that the health and wellbeing of girls is a priority for WHO.
“The health & wellbeing of girls is a priority for @WHO. We have to improve the lives & health of girls, who themselves must be at the centre of our efforts. They’re change makers for their own health & that of their families & communities.”
