Israel violates ceasefire with air and ground strikes on Gaza; Death toll rises to 33

GAZA: Israel carried out fresh air and ground attacks on Gaza on Sunday, marking one of the worst ceasefire violations since the truce began. The latest strikes and gunfire have raised the death toll to 33 Palestinians in the past 24 hours.

According to local sources, Israeli forces launched air raids and ground assaults across several parts of Gaza, killing two Palestinians in the initial strikes. In central Gaza, Israeli troops opened fire, resulting in the deaths of five more Palestinians.

Loud explosions and heavy gunfire were reported in Rafah and Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Eyewitnesses said Israeli tanks fired intensely in the Abasan area.

Airstrikes continued into the afternoon in Rafah, while Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed that two more Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on Jabalia in northern Gaza.

The Israeli military has not yet confirmed or denied the attacks. However, Hamas accused Israel of violating the ceasefire, calling the assaults a deliberate attempt to derail peace efforts.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that 18 Palestinians were killed in separate incidents over the last 24 hours, adding to the growing number of casualties amid renewed Israeli aggression.
