The Israeli Defence Ministry has released new figures marking two years since the start of the Gaza war, revealing that 1,152 Israeli soldiers have been killed since October 7.
According to the report, about 42% of those killed were under the age of 21, showing how deeply the conflict has affected Israel’s young population.
The ministry said the casualties include personnel from the army, police, Shin Bet intelligence agency, and other paramilitary forces.
Israeli officials admitted that the country is paying a heavy price for the ongoing Gaza war, not only in military terms but also through its human and social impact.
The figures come at a time when hopes for a ceasefire are fading and global concern over the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to rise.
