New York: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held important meetings with Austrian Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer (Christian Stocker was mentioned earlier, but the current Chancellor is Nehammer) and Kuwait’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
During his conversation with the Austrian Chancellor, the Prime Minister recalled his visit to Austria in the 1980s. He spoke warmly about his memories from that time and expressed his admiration for Austria’s progress and culture. Their meeting included friendly exchanges in German and Arabic, reflecting a cordial atmosphere.
Later, in his meeting with the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, Shehbaz Sharif underlined the deep-rooted and historic ties between Pakistan and Kuwait. He described the relationship as “everlasting and unbreakable,” noting the mutual trust and cooperation that have always defined the bond between the two countries.
The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening these partnerships in trade, investment, and development. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared resolve to work closely for regional peace and prosperity.
The meetings were seen as a positive step towards reinforcing Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement with both European and Gulf partners.
