Karachi: K-Electric has dismissed social media claims about a damaged high-voltage transmission tower in the Malir stream, confirming that the structure is completely safe and stable.
A KE spokesperson said the company conducted a safety inspection after the tower was identified in viral videos. The inspection confirmed that the tower remains structurally sound and poses no risk.
The spokesperson explained that the tower is 25.5 meters tall, with 20 meters of its foundation buried underground, which keeps it firmly anchored even during heavy rains or flooding.
Earlier, social media posts claimed that a high-power transmission pole near the Jam Sadiq Bridge in the Malir River was damaged and needed urgent repairs. K-Electric has now clarified that the tower is secure and does not require any emergency work.
