LAHORE: Punjab continues to reel under devastating floods that have so far claimed 46 lives and affected more than 3.5 million people, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Director General PDMA Punjab, Irfan Ali Kathia, said that at least 3,944 villages have been impacted, with 25,000 to 30,000 people currently residing in relief camps.
He added that rescue operations have so far saved over 1.49 million people, while more than 1 million livestock have also been shifted to safer locations.
Irfan Ali Kathia said that Ravi’s water was returning instead of going to the Chenab at Sadhanai, until the water in the Chenab is low, the Ravi will not be included in the Chenab.
On the other hand, the Flood Forecasting Division states that the River Ravi has a high level of floods at Balloki, the arrival and emission of water at the site of Balloki is 11,4130 cusecs.
The river Ravi has a very high level of flood at the site of Sadhanai, where the flow of water is 160,580 cusecs while the water emission is 157,580 cusecs.
According to the Flood Four Casting Division, the river Ravi has a medium -sized flood at the place of Jashar, where the flow and emission of water is 85 thousand 980 cusecs.
