Sharjah: Pakistan’s left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman has etched his name into the record books by completing 100 T20 International appearances.
The milestone was achieved during the fourth match of the ongoing tri-nation T20 series against Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Fakhar made his T20I debut in 2017 against the West Indies and has since become a regular feature in Pakistan’s limited-overs setup, known for his aggressive strokeplay and ability to take on bowlers from the outset.
In his 100th T20I outing, Fakhar contributed 25 runs with the bat, adding to his career tally in the shortest format. Despite the modest score in the milestone game, his consistent performances over the years have cemented his place among the country’s premier white-ball cricketers.
With this achievement, Fakhar becomes the sixth Pakistani cricketer to play 100 T20 Internationals. He joins the esteemed company of Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Rizwan, all of whom have reached the century mark in T20Is.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and fans alike have lauded Fakhar’s contributions, recognizing his role in Pakistan’s key T20 victories over the years, including ICC tournaments and bilateral series.
As the tri-nation series progresses, Fakhar will be looking to build on this milestone and continue delivering impactful performances for his side.
