ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza said on Thursday that Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy strong brotherly ties that continue to expand in every field. He called the bond between the two countries a “historic asset.”
He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad to mark Türkiye’s Victory Day. General Shamshad was the chief guest at the event, which was attended by civil and military officials, diplomats, and media representatives.
The CJCSC congratulated the people of Türkiye on their Victory Day and praised the long-standing strategic relations between the two nations. He emphasized that Pakistan and Türkiye share common values, mutual trust, and a strong partnership that has stood the test of time.
General Shamshad reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further deepen and expand their cooperation across all sectors.
According to an ISPR statement, he also extended heartfelt greetings to the Turkish people, their political leadership, and the Turkish Armed Forces on this special occasion.
Türkiye’s Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan, Mr. Burak Ece, warmly received General Shamshad at the ceremony.
