D.I. KHAN: Deadly storms hit Dera Ismail Khan, killing eight people and injuring 47, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The storms, with winds recorded at 100 kilometers per hour, caused widespread damage as several walls and roofs collapsed. Authorities released official figures of the losses, confirming the deaths and injuries.

Out of the eight people killed, five belonged to Tehsil D.I. Khan and three were from Tehsil Paharpur.

Doctors are treating the injured at local hospitals. The District Headquarters Hospital is treating 41 patients, while six others are receiving care at the Mian Muhammad Teaching Hospital. Officials reported that three of the injured are in critical condition.

Doctors discharged 26 patients with minor injuries after treatment and sent them home.

Rescue and relief teams are working in the affected areas, as authorities continue to assess the scale of destruction caused by the violent storm.
