ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan’s banking system is more complex compared to other countries.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the finance minister stated that facilitating traders and investors is the government’s top priority. He added that the process of economic reforms is underway and the economy is moving towards stability.
Aurangzeb noted that currently only 10 to 15 percent of Pakistanis are benefiting from digital businesses, but the trend of digital assets will grow in the future. He emphasized the need to ensure transparency in digital investments.
He said that the Pakistan banking system is complicated compared to other countries. Digital investment laws have to be improved.
The finance minister further revealed that crypto mining is also under consideration, and a dedicated Crypto Council has been formed to deliberate on matters related to crypto mining and digital currencies.
