PMD forecasts monsoon rains for Karachi from August 18-21

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi is preparing for a significant shift in its weather patterns.

A new monsoon system is anticipated to bring light to moderate rainfall to the city from August 18 to August 21.
The sky is expected to remain partly cloudy as a sign of the change to come, which will provide a welcome respite from the current warm and humid conditions.

The current weather reflects this transition, with today’s minimum temperature recorded at 27°C and a maximum expected to reach around 35°C. Humidity stands at 78 percent, and winds are blowing at a gentle 10 km/h.

The change is being driven by a slowdown in the sea breeze, which began today. This will allow the monsoon currents to take hold, with the system expected to begin affecting the region from the night of August 17 or the morning of August 18.
