WASHINGTON: The United States has changed its global trade policy and has imposed a tariff of 19 % on goods imports from Pakistan and 25 % on India.
The U.S. President has signed an executive order regarding tariffs on various countries. According to the order, tariffs on Canada have been increased from 25% to 35%, India faces a 25% tariff, Bangladesh 20%, Turkey and Israel 15%.
According to the White House spokesperson, South Africa has been imposed with a 30% tariff, Vietnam 20%, Venezuela 15%, Switzerland 39%, Iraq 35%, Japan 15%, Libya 30%, and Myanmar 40%. These new tariffs are effective immediately.

Senior US officials say no final decision has been made regarding China on tariffs, differences with India cannot be resolved overnight, including BRICS with India and geographical political differences on Russia.

This agreement was announced by President Donald Trump via a post on Truth Social. The purpose of the agreement is to promote bilateral trade, improve market access, attract investment, and enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
