No prisoner in Pakistan receives the kind of privileges that the founder of PTI enjoys in jail. According to PML-N leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui, he has access to most facilities behind bars. Siddiqui also noted that Khan Sahib ignores how others were treated in similar situations.
He made these remarks during a special interview on Batool Rajput’s show “Bol Reports.” He said that jail facilities should only be provided if permitted by the prison manual, and pointed out that political prisoners generally don’t complain about the lack of such amenities.
Speaking about the PTI founder’s sons, he said it’s only natural for them to worry about their father. “If they wish to return home, they are welcome,” he added. The senator clarified that there is no restriction on British citizens traveling to Pakistan.
Irfan Siddiqui stated that there would be no issues if PTI engaged in civilized politics, but their political attitude is completely different. He added that PTI has no experience when it comes to negotiation or dialogue.
The PML-N senator further remarked that all discussions within PTI start and end with the release of their founder. He criticized provincial leaders for making irresponsible statements, saying no such remarks should come from someone heading a province.
He also commented on Ali Amin Gandapur’s statements, calling them entirely non-political. He claimed that during Khan’s rule, 40,000 Taliban were settled in the country. According to Siddiqui, the Afghan Taliban have now embedded themselves in Pakistan, and it has become very difficult to remove them. He questioned, “Who are the so-called good Taliban in Gandapur’s view?”
Siddiqui alleged that Gandapur’s own supporters pay extortion money to these Taliban groups. He further said that Nawaz Sharif once urged the authorities to allow PTI to form the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He pointed out that despite 12 years in power in KP and 4 years in the federal government, PTI has no major projects to show. “Whatever projects exist are those initiated by the PML-N. PTI should list theirs,” he said.
The PML-N leader added that PTI’s protests do not worry them. He noted that politicians in the past served jail time without making complaints. Siddiqui emphasized that Nawaz Sharif never demanded any special treatment while in prison.
He also stated that attackers targeted defense institutions openly, not in secret. He said the authorities have rightfully punished those involved in the May 9 incidents.
Political Dialogue is Essential for the Country: Shahid Khaqan
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, in an exclusive interview on “Bol Reports”, stressed that political dialogue is essential for the country’s progress.
He said the organizers did not invite him to participate in the All Parties Conference, but he added that the opposition has the democratic right to protest. He urged the government to show flexibility in its approach.
Abbasi said that national interest should come before personal gain, and criticized PTI for focusing solely on the release of its founder.
He emphasized that the solution to Pakistan’s problems must come from within the country. He also questioned the legitimacy of the current government’s mandate, calling it controversial. The former Prime Minister said that chaotic politics achieves nothing.
He further stated that the PTI founder’s sons have no connection to the country’s political affairs, and that Imran Khan tends to elevate anyone he chooses, regardless of qualifications.
Shahid Khaqan concluded by calling the May 9 incident a national tragedy.
