Mahesh Kumar, a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, claimed that WhatsApp voice calls in Karachi drop after one minute. He raised serious concerns during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecom, stating:
“If this is the condition in Karachi, what must it be in South Punjab and Interior Sindh?”
He highlighted the deteriorating state of mobile voice and internet services, even in Pakistan’s largest metropolitan city.
Kumar stated that users in Karachi regularly face disruptions during WhatsApp calls, particularly when the call lasts longer than one minute. He warned that this level of communication instability is alarming both citizens and policymakers.
A source conducted research and found no credible sources or user reports confirming widespread complaints about WhatsApp call drops in Karachi.
