PESHAWAR: At least four children lost their lives after drowning in a pond in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The incident took place in the Daulatkhel area, where the children were bathing in the pond when they tragically drowned.
Rescue officials reported that local divers, along with area residents, recovered the bodies after a two-hour search operation.
According to Lakki Marwat police, the children of the deceased are between the ages of 8 and 12 years.
Earlier, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA)issued alert in view of rainfall and possible floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the PDMA, torrential rains are feared in rivers and rivers, while cities are expected to flooding and land sliding in the upper regions.
According to the PDMA, the storm and thunderstorms can damage the power system due to which the district administration has been issued instructions. The rainfall is likely to continue till July 17.
According to the PDMA, six people were killed and one was injured in various accidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours, while rain and flood rails caused partial damage to 3 houses.
The rain has occurred in Khyber, Malakand, Kohat and other districts including Bajaur.
