Baku: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq led a high-level parliamentary delegation to Azerbaijan, engaging in fruitful discussions with Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
The visit underscored the growing bilateral relations and mutual commitment to regional stability.
During the meeting, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq praised recent positive interactions with Azerbaijani leaders, including President Ilham Aliyev and Speaker Sahiba Gafarova.
He congratulated Azerbaijan on successfully hosting the ECO Summit and highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s participation, which he described as a symbol of solidarity and goodwill between Islamabad and Baku.
The Pakistani delegation expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s steadfast support on the Kashmir issue and welcomed Azerbaijan’s announcement of a $2 billion investment in Pakistan, signaling deepening economic cooperation.
Emphasizing the importance of parliamentary collaboration, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq proposed hosting a trilateral Speakers’ Conference in Islamabad this September to further enhance legislative ties.
Prime Minister Ali Asadov reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s principled stance on Kashmir, emphasizing that Baku remains committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also appreciated Pakistan’s support regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Both nations celebrated the successful implementation of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), fostering economic integration.
The leaders reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and regional stability.
