KARACHI: Rainfall continues intermittently in various parts of the city today, with the current spell expected to persist until Sunday.

According to the Met Office, heavy showers accompanied by strong winds and intense thunder and lightning are likely during this period.

Today’s temperature is expected to range between 32°C and 34°C, minimum temperature recorded at 27.5°C, humidity levels remain high at 78%, sea breeze is completely suspended and westerly winds are blowing at a speed of 10 km/h across the city.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during the ongoing weather activity.

The Meteorological Department has warned that low-lying areas in the city could face urban flooding. They have advised people to stay away from weak buildings, billboards, and electricity poles to stay safe.

According to the Met Office, the recorded rainfall in various areas is as follows: Surjani Town: 16 mm, Saadi Town: 10.2 mm, North Karachi: 7.1 mm, North Karachi (Second Station): 6.1 mm, Gulshan-e-Maymar: 5.4 mm, Saddar & PNS Base Masroor: 5 mm each, Jinnah Terminal: 2.6 mm, Orangi Town & Keamari: 2.5 mm each, Old Airport: 2.2 mm, University Road & Gulshan-e-Hadeed: 2 mm each, Nazimabad: 1.4 mm and DHA Phase 2 & Shahrah-e-Faisal: 1 mm each.

Residents are advised to stay alert and follow safety guidelines during the ongoing rainy spell.
