KARACHI: It was a heartbreaking day on Karachi’s roads, with a string of traffic accidents claiming the lives of four people, among them a young man working as an online food delivery rider.

Police reported one grim incident near Teen Talwar, where a car collided with a motorcycle. One person died, and another was injured. Officers quickly moved to arrest the car’s driver.

Later, on Defence Khayaban-e-Nishat, a double-cabin vehicle struck a motorcycle. Murtaza, the motorcyclist, who was a rider for an online food delivery company, tragically died right there at the scene. Police confirmed they arrested the driver of the vehicle, Usman Shah Rashidi, and took him to Darakhshan Police Station. It turns out the suspect is the grandson of former DIG Pir Hassan Shah Rashidi.

Another sad event unfolded near Shahra-e-Faisal Karsaz, where an unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle, leading to the death of a son and severe injuries to his mother. The young man who passed away has been identified as Shamoon.

Adding to the day’s somber count, an unknown vehicle tragically ran over an unidentified motorcyclist on the Qayyumabad Jham Sadiq Bridge. Investigations into all these accidents are now underway.
