Work on Safe City project commence in Peshawar after years delay

PESHAWAR: After a delay of 18 year, practical work on the Safe City project has finally commenced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital of Peshawar.

Inspector General of Police (IGP)KP Zulfiqar Hameed announced that the Safe City project will be completed in six months. He further stated that Punjab is also extending support for the successful execution of the initiative.

According to the IG KP, the Safe City project will help deal with terrorism and crime.

It should be noted that practical work has been started after 18 years delay on the Safe City project in Peshawar.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar assured MPAs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that his government will provide all the “necessary assistance” to the provincial government for the establishment of the safe city project, said a press release issued by the CM office.

A delegation of KP parliamentarians’ led by provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai had called on CM Buzdar at his office in Lahore to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The delegation appreciated the steps taken by CM Buzdar for the welfare of the people as well as the promotion of inter-provincial harmony.
