The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle donkey hides at the port.

According to the FBR spokesperson 285 percales were being sent to China describing as leather products. However, FBR carried out an operation at the port and successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle donkey hides.

The FBR Spokesperson further explained that under the export policy there is a ban on the export of donkey hides. The cost of the confiscated shipment millions of rupees in international market.
The team took the hides into custody and transferred them to the ASO warehouse.

A case has been registered against the exporter under relevant provisions of the Customs Act, and further investigation is underway.
