RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Corps held its annual investiture ceremony on Friday to recognize the exemplary services of Pakistan Army officers, soldiers, and martyrs’ families, the military’s media affairs wing said in a statement
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz, Commander of the Rawalpindi Corps, presided over the event as the chief guest, conferring prestigious military awards for meritorious service and valor.
a a total of 166 individuals were acknowledged for their dedication and gallantry. The honors included the “Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military)”, “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military)”, and “Tamgha-e-Basalat”. Among the recipients, 47 officers were awarded the “Sitara-e-Imtiaz”, and 102 officers were honored with the “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz”. Two Junior Commissioned Officers and fifteen soldiers received the “Tamgha-e-Basalat” in recognition of their courage and valor.
In a heartfelt moment, families of martyred soldiers accepted awards on behalf of their loved ones. Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz personally met with the families of the fallen heroes, offering deep respect and appreciation for their ultimate sacrifice.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officials and the families of award recipients, highlighting the Army’s commitment to honoring service, courage, and sacrifice.
