KP police destroyed temporary hideouts of TTP in Lakki Marwat  

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police destroyed the banned Tehreek -e -Taliban Pakistan (TTP) temporary hideouts during a search and strike operation in Lakki Marwat district.

The police conducted a search and strike operation in the border area in which the banned TTP’s temporary hideouts were found.

A camp in the mountains was also destroyed at the junction of Karak and Mianwali.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that all temporary hideouts with the Punjab Border, including Abbas Khattak and the surrounding area, would demolished.

The clean -up operation will continue till the clearance of the all places.

Earlier, federal government had decided to create a national policy to tackle the increasing terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. They will also strengthen the National Action Plan (NAP) to fight terrorism more effectively.

The government will consult with parliamentary parties, provincial governments, and the military to take key measures and coordinated actions. Stricter steps will be taken against groups involved in attacks on security forces and working against the state.

The prime minister has held detailed discussions with important stakeholders about the recent rise in terrorist incidents, especially those targeting security forces.

During these discussions, it was decided that an in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security will be held soon to assess the situation.
